Life IN Death

The Sign of the Crosses have always been, for at least 6 thousand plus years, the signature of the Great White (Adamic) Race, and Symbolize Resurrection and ETERNAL Life in the Hereafter. What we do in this life truly does echo throughout Eternity (as is said in the move Gladiator, see clip here).

"A good name is to be more desired than great wealth,
Favor is better than silver and gold.
The rich and the poor have a common bond,
The Lord is the maker of them all."

~Proverbs 22:1-2 -N.A.S.B. (see here)

live for what you would die for

die for nothing

"Cattle die and kinsmen die,
thyself too soon must die,
but one thing never, I ween, will die,
fair fame of one who has earned.

Cattle die and kinsmen die,
thyself too soon must die,
but one thing never, I ween, will die,
the doom on each one dead."

~Hávamál, verses 75 & 76 (see here)

homer quote

On Martyrdom:
A person don't get to choose if they are a martyr or not, the people choose who they consider martyrs. A person can only hope that their sacrifice is appreciated by others. Yet one does not make sacrifices in life, including the 'ultimate sacrifice' of giving up one's life, to obtain martyrdom status. No martyr has ever set out to become a martyr. Sacrifices are made, and risks are taken, for principle out of conviction and not the selfish pride of vainglory or self-seeking fame. True martyrs are humble and never sought to become martyrs, again, they are chosen, not self-appointed.

There are 2 types of martyrs, the dead martyr and the living martyr. The living martyr is someone who has been imprisoned, tortured or that has suffered a great loss for a principle or belief. It is far better to LIVE for your beliefs than to simply die for them. If in living for your beliefs you suffer then you are a living martyr and the dignity you display while you suffer will inspire others more than simply dying outright.

Jesus knew He was going to become a "dead martyr" for His Message; Apostle Paul knew he too was going to die for the Message. But they only knew because the Holy Spirit showed them their future and fates.

It is not our choice to become a martyr, nor should we seek to be. Instead we should seek to live, regardless of the risk (cost), according to our deeply held convictions in life. Let the chips fall where they may, if you are to be murdered for your believes then that is your fate. If I were to be murdered for my beliefs I would HOPE that my death would be recognized as a honorable martyr's death, not for ego reasons, but that it will embolden others, not to die, but to LIVE boldly for the beliefs they and I share.
